Presight meets Prime Minister of Mauritius to discuss AI-driven nation building initiatives

20 February 2025 – Port Louis, Mauritius: Presight’s Vice President for African Markets, Sheik Muhammad Shameen Hosenbocus, had the honor of meeting the Prime Minister of Mauritius, the Honourable Dr Navinchandra Ramgoolam, to share how Presight leverages cutting-edge AI, big data analytics, and advanced smart city solutions to enhance community wellbeing, liveability, and urban environments globally.

Presight’s visit to Mauritius was part of a high-level delegation led by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to explore new investment opportunities and strengthen economic ties between the two nations.

His Excellency Humaid Mohamed Bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of United Arab Emirates Chambers of Commerce and Industry, led the UAE delegation and described the discussions as highly productive and praised the Prime Minister’s long-term vision for the nation.

As part of the visit, the delegation also met with the Mauritian Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reforms, Mr Lutchmanah Pentiah, who outlined his Government’s commitment for elevating the public service to new heights of efficiency and effectiveness through the proper and effective means of data gathering, which is crucial to drive the digital transformation of the public service.

Mr Pentiah further added that the Ministry would seek support and inspiration from the UAE’s experience in the use of artificial intelligence tools and applications, to guide the innovation team of the Ministry in deploying their digital transformation agenda for Mauritius.

The delegation also met with the Minister of Industry, SMEs and Cooperatives, Mr Sayed Muhammad Aadil Ameer Meea, who invited Emirati companies to establish themselves in Mauritius, highlighting opportunities in key sectors.

Since the signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement in July 2024, Mauritius and the United Arab Emirates have been increasing exchanges to boost economic and trade cooperation.
