Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, May 14, 2024: Presight AI Holding PLC (ADX: PRESIGHT), the region’s leading big data analytics company powered by generative AI, has been named as one of two UAE-based companies to execute an MOU signed between the Governments of UAE and Mauritius.

The MOU was signed between Hon. Georges Pierre Lesjongard, Minister of Energy and Public Utilities, Government of The Republic of Mauritius, and H.E. Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Government of UAE to cooperate in the fields of energy, water, and sanitation at the 2-day Mauritius Emerging Tech Exhibition’s AI Summit (METX).

As part of this MOU, Presight will look to leverage its capabilities in big data analytics in the energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors. This announcement also comes on the back of Presight’s recent acquisition of a 51% stake in AIQ – an Energy AI technology pioneer – and is evidence of the company’s evolving role in the energy sector which holds enormous growth potential.

In his speech during the MOU signing ceremony, Hon. Georges Pierre Lesjongard, said: “Energy security and reliability has been a key element in the economic development of Mauritius. Our strategy is to further enhance our energy security through a progressive shift to cleaner energy sources, integrate more renewable energy in our electricity mix and implement energy efficient technologies. The MOU with the UAE government comes at an opportune time which helps us towards reducing our national emissions and improve our resilience towards the impact of climate change”

His Excellency Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, said: “This MoU cements the longstanding relations between the UAE and Mauritius and serves their shared commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection. The UAE follows a collaborative approach to meet the targets of the UAE Energy Strategy 2050, the National Hydrogen Strategy 2050, and the UAE Water Security Strategy 2036, which collectively contribute to the UAE’s net zero by 2050 target. The MoU is a shining example of effective collaboration and contributes to achieving SDGs 6 on clean water and sanitation, 7 on affordable and clean energy, and 13 on climate action.”

Another highlight of the event was a series of high-level meetings held between Thomas Pramotedham, CEO of Presight and key Mauritian Government officials including Hon. Georges Pierre Lesjongard, Minister of Energy and Public Utilities; Hon. Deepak Balgobin​, Minister of Information Technology, Communication and Innovation; Mr. Anil Kumar Dip, the Commissioner of Police; Dharam Dev Manraj, Financial Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development; and Mr. Kapil Reesaul, CEO of Mauritius Telecom.

With his expertise within the big data analytics and AI domain, Thomas Pramotedham was also invited to participate in a highly significant panel session titled: “Charting the Course for AI Innovation in Mauritius – A Roadmap for the Future.” featuring other prominent AI experts and a key draw of the event.
